Detent PointEvery option covers your whole organization — seat count sets the price tier, not a per-machine limit the app counts or enforces. Choose the model that fits how you buy:
- Perpetual — a one-time purchase. Pay once and own the version you buy, for good. No subscription, no renewals.
- Subscription. Pay yearly and stay on the latest release, updates included. If you ever stop, you keep the version you are on — it does not stop working.
- Enterprise agreement. For larger or company-wide deployments — a negotiated agreement with premium support. Ask us.
You will be provided a signed MSIX to download, plus a small license file your team drops in through the tooling you already use — Intune, Configuration Manager, or a manual install.
No activation server. No per-machine registration. No phone-home. The license is checked on the machine, offline. Microsoft retired volume buying through the Store, so teams come straight to us instead of expensing seats one at a time.
DetentShell does not call home, check in, or collect anything. Nothing about how your people use it leaves their machines.
In a controlled environment that is the point: there is no telemetry endpoint to allow-list, no analytics to review, and nothing for a security assessment to chase down. The license file it reads is a local file — validating it involves no network at all.
Every direct install runs full-function for 30 days with no license. After that, an unlicensed install keeps your files readable but pauses Run and Save until a license is applied.
